Grape Update

Riki is pretty excited about his new daddy-mobile. We sold his Honda pretty much instantly, and then found this beast to replace it. Much to my chagrin, it's a station wagon. I think I'll be won over once we get to initiate it with a proper roadtrip. :)

In other news, I'm 25 weeks pregnant now. I think this point in the pregnancy would be pretty easy were it not for pelvic girdle pain. Though I have a baby bump, it's not quite big enough to get in the way or to give me serious back pain. I'm feeling quite fresh, really. BUT, lemme tell ya, this pelvis business is not fun.

As I understand it, pelvic girdle pain occurs in about 20% of pregnancies, but usually not until the last couple weeks before delivery. It's naturally caused by the softening of the pelvic bone in preparation for labour, but in some women, this results in the creation of a moving joint in the middle of the pelvis. Not good when every times said preggers lady moves, the new joint grinds - super painful. The worst is when I turn over in bed, because there's so much weight on the pelvic bone from lying on my side. It would be great if I could give my pelvis a break by sleeping on my back... but that's out because my now football-sized uterus would then squeeze parts of my intestine, creating other superfun complications.

On a lighter note, Baby Weber is amazingly active. Grape dances and plays in its little cocoon pretty much all day long, which is really cute. Daddy has even been able to feel some movement from the outside already - very exciting!

I've decided on the nursery bedding set, despite several opinions that it's slightly girly. In the end, I think it's a BABY, so if choosing slightly girly bedding makes our (possible) boy slightly feminine, so be it! The picture is from the website; it's not our actual nursery. Nonna and Opa (Baby's soon-to-be paternal grandparents) are coming in November to help us decorate the nursery - just white for now.
